Ing. Carlo Maurilio Lerici Foundation starts in 1947 its mission being to carry out, in Italy and abroad, initiatives aimed at the protection of tangible and intangible cultural heritage, and at its promotion as a fundamental agent for social and economic development. Over almost eighty years, the Foundation has uninterruptedly promoted and developed activities aimed at the protection and conservation of cultural and environmental heritage. Through the use of advanced and non-invasive technologies, the Foundation has coordinated and monitored archaeological research, restoration and conservation interventions, supported the drafting of management plans and developed databases for archaeological and monumental sites.
Today, with particular reference to the field of international development cooperation, and in collaboration with UNESCO and other international institutes, the Foundation has also specialized in the creation of training courses, aimed at cultural professionals often within public institutions, with the aim of promoting innovative and sustainable approaches to safeguard cultural heritage.
